Course Set-up/ Expectations

Day 1: Face to Face
Day 2: Online
Day 3: Online
Day 4: Face to Face

Each online session has a:
  • How do I start?
  • Discussion Board
  • Assignment
With the discussion boards (forums) and assignments to complete, please be respectful of timelines and submit your responses and/or assignments in the timeline that has been designated. While I expect you may not agree with the topic or what the author has suggested, please adhere to collegial dialogue. Finally, please adhere to the protocols that have been identified in the welcome area. Please contact me (immediately) in the event you need clarification or have questions or concerns.

Discussion Boards (Forums) Protocols
Postings should be evenly distributed during the discussion period (not concentrated all on one day or at the beginning and/or end of the period).
You must post to the original discussion and then respond to 2 other class-mates responses. You may NOT respond with one or two word phrases. Be clear, articulate, and communicate effectively.
Postings should be a minimum of one short paragraph and a maximum of two paragraphs.
Avoid postings that are limited to 'I agree' or 'great idea', etc. If you agree (or disagree) with a posting then say why you agree by supporting your statement with concepts from the readings or by bringing in a related example or experience with a minimum of 75 words.
Address the questions as much as possible (don't let the discussion stray).
Try to use evidence from the articles that support your postings.
Build on others responses to create threads.
Bring in related prior knowledge (work experience, prior coursework, readings, etc.)
Use proper etiquette (proper language, typing, etc.).
